From Prairial to Pop Culture. Day Nine. Calendar fun

Messidor_commence_le_21_ou_22_juin

The republican calendar replaced all the months in the Gregorian calendar with new names, as we know.  Prairial ran from May 20 to June 19, and Messidor followed. In Britain, a contemporary wit mocked the calendar by calling the months:  Wheezy, Sneezy and Freezy;  Slippy, Drippy and Nippy;  Showery, Flowery and Bowery;….. , Croppy and Poppy. Which one of these Disney-esque replacements took the place of Messidor (June 20-July 19)?

  1. Soppy
  2. Moppy
  3. Hoppy
  4. Boppy
